The actual process of the ECOflame City rests upon exposure of unwanted vegetation to the intensive heat of blow burners at a temperature of 900 to 1000 degrees Centigrade. Infrared radiation of the radiation grid at the bottom of the burner compartment enhances the burning process. Because of this heat exposure, the walls of the leaf cells burst open while withdrawal of moisture takes place, which causes the weed to dehydrate, decolourise and die. An incidental advantage is the weed seeds will not germinate. In addition, germs, algae, snails and fungi are not resistant to this treatment.
